Ultra Runner, Philanthropist, Survivor Sarah Jamieson packs a punch. She’s philanthropic crusading dynamo with more km’s on her feet than most people could ever imagine. Sarah has been featured on the cover of the Georgia Straight, spoken at TedX Kids @ BC and FEAT Canada. Here we get to know what’s helping drive Sarah to raise $1 million for various charities by her 35th birthday.
What is your greatest fear?
Mass Societal Apathy.
Which historical figure do you most identify with?
Nelson Mandela, hands down.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I do not trust easily; therefore, I find I judge or look for ulterior motives.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I purchase new running shoes every 5 months.
What is your favourite cheat meal?
My favorite cheat meal would be a toss-up between a gluten free burger, yam fries and a beer or a good plate of Italian pasta with spicy meat sauce and a good glass of pinot noir.
What has sport taught you that you didn’t know about yourself?
Strength and courage. I am fearless with an unwavering tenacity.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement has been the ability to accept my experiences, process them and learn from the have shaped every trial and tribulation throughout my evolutionary process of how I define my human potential. To be able to stand in front of hundreds of people and say I am survivor of child abuse, I am survivor of sexual assault, I have survived my mother’s own passing of suicide, allows me the opportunity to not only heal, but to speak from a place of experience when I counsel others that they too can move forward and live a life full of acceptance, love and personal excellence.
What race / running route / hike / trail would you recommend?
Noosa Beach National Park, Australia- it is awe inspiring, life changing and the epitome of awesomeness.
